Well, everyone here in the Ferrell Household had an outstanding Christmas and New Year's Eve! Lacy has been great and we had a lot of fun with her during her first Christmas. She is now approaching 15 weeks old and is really alert and fun. She likes to sing and make noises when you sing to her, loves trying to grab your finger and suck it, loves her own fists, she has turned over from her stomach to her back three seperate times (the latest being this morning), and absolutely can't get enough of looking all around and following objects. All-in-all she is being extremely cute.
Sleep is going well still, although Katie and I both are waiting for that to stop at any moment. She sleeps anywhere from 7-11 hours a night. The only bad thing is that sometimes her night starts at 7:30 - 8:00 when our bedtime can start as late as 2:00 a.m.
This holiday season has also brought one good and one bad thing. On the good side I have finished all of my law school exams forever. Only a few paper classes and the bar exam to go for me. Hooraah!
And sadly our old family member Wally is now chasing butterflies in heaven. His heart gave out on him on Thursday night after 15 years of being an unbelievably loving guy. I will miss him greatly. It was always nice to pull up to my parents house and be greeted by him immediately, his big eyes looking up at you and wanting to jump up and give you a hug, no matter how dirty he was and how clean you were. He was a world-class squirrel spotter, energetic chaser of bees and never saw a butterfly that he didn't try to follow. Even in his old age, as his cateracts and and old bones began to give out on him he never failed to give in to the chase. He lived a long life, made many friends, outsmarted most of the Belzoni police department for years, and was loved by everyone of his family. I believe that heaven just wouldn't be heaven without dogs, and I look forward to seeing you again one day my buddy. Until then, keep chasing butterflies.
