Well Lacy continues on her one good night - one bad night sleep habit. Last night she and I were up from 1 a.m. until 5 a.m. Then we all were up for good around 7:45 a.m. (But as I type this Lacy and Baxter are now sleeping while Katie and I are enjoying the cool morning hours together.

I know that Katie is tired. She was up and down feeding Lacy all night also. But hopefully today will be nice. We're planning on possibly making a trip into Memphis today to run some errands and get a few things taken care of. Hopefully we'll have time to run by the Matt's and Ryan's houses.

A few things I've noticed and learned lately. Lacy loves the outdoors and hates any type of bedding. Baby swaddler good - baby blanket is kicked off immediately when dad puts it on, however when placed by mom the blanket seems to be attached with a magnet. When changing diapers always have at least one diaper under the baby at any given time. Poop can be projectile! Always have a burp cloth handy. Babies can be adorable when they are mad. A mad - adorable baby is not as adorable after 5 minutes of being mad. You can get more work done at 3:30 a.m. than you think. Sleeping during the day is close to impossible when you own your own business, are in law school and like to do a lot of things during the day (Kelly I'm looking forward to getting lessons here, I've noticed on vacation that you seem to have mastered this subject.)

That's just a small list of things I've learned. I'll update it as things pop to my head.

Lacy & Baxter lounging Posted by Picasa

Well over the last three nights we've had one really good night and two really bad. On Sunday lacy decided to sleep in 45 minute increments. So Katie and I finally got to bed around 8 a.m. For some reason when the sun comes up Lacy thinks its bedtime and when the sun goes does it's party time!

However, on Monday things were the exact opposite. We had two periods where Lacy slept over 4+ hours. Pretty nice. But it seems she was just giving us a little head fake before Tuesday came around. On Tuesday (last night) it seems that little L.E. was back to her sundown partying ways. She and I spent 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. walking around the house, rocking in the chair, lounging stomach to stomach and having all kinds of fun. If she wasn't so cute it could almost get tiring. Finally around 5 or so I was able to lay her down for a few minutes before she decided to get up again at around 5:15. However, Katie took over, and I'm sure those two had a little fun, but I decided it was time to relax with Baxter under the covers.

When I left this morning the four of us had been sitting outside enjoying the weather. The outdoors really seems to calm her down and keep her awake. And keeping her awake during the day can be almost impossible at times. I think Katie and I are both looking forward to when she gets just a little bigger so that we can plop her down in her little front-pack and go hiking with her. I think she'll really enjoy it.

Well, if her pattern holds maybe tonight will be full of sleep. If not, oh well. One thing I've found funny is that no matter how little sleep I get during the night naps are almost impossible to take. I just can't make myself lay down during the day to try to sleep. Just to many other things to do and have fun with.

Lacy's First Mississippi State Football Game!

The four of us were able to make the drive down to Starkville this weekend and had a great time. Lacy was great and seemed to really enjoy being outdoors. Katie and I were a little curious about how the trip would go, but everything turned out great.

On Friday all four of us were able to take a nice afternoon stroll around campus. I was happy to see that the tornado that hit last week did not seem to do much permanent damage. There were a few trees missing or with downed limbs but overall the damage seemed to be light.

Saturday was a lot warmer and we just made a quick stroll to the bookstore from the Cotton District. My dad and Amber were able to meet us and walk around campus with us. It was nice to see both of them for the first time since Lacy was born last weekend.

Katie and I racked up at the bookstore on Saturday. It seems that Barnes and Noble is taking over management mid October and everything was on sale. Now we have MSU notepads, trash cans, cups, tags, flags, grill covers, shirts, garbage cans and more!

Lacy also had her first dining out experience Saturday night. The three of us went with Grandad & Grandma Savage to the Veranda and had a great time. (Alright Lacy didn't actually eat there but she seemed to sleep really well, even as a speaker was right above her.)One quick note on the Veranda. I've been there several times now and have pretty much enjoyed it, Saturday was again a nice experience. However, the food time was extremely slow. It took almost 35 minutes just to get the appetizer. I'm not sure what was going on as others seemed to be getting served much faster. But besides that I really enjoyed it and would recommend it as a place to dine in Starkville.

Thanks to everyone that we saw and made it a great weekend. Matt, Jeff, Joe, Ellen, Keith and Amber. We all had a great time. And mom I hope you feel better soon, sorry you couldn't make it.
